Best restaurant in town

We love the PowerHouse and eat here regularly. The bento boxes for lunch are an excellent value and include a nice variety of dishes. Our favorite is the sushi though – Tommy San does an amazing job and we enjoy it all. Try the Blackjack or the Midnight Rolls, or whatever he has on special that night. Also the view of the channel is perfect for visitors to see the fishing boats go by or the eagles landing on the deck outside.

One of the best places to dine with a view.

Japanese style food with an American twist. Good food at a slightly elevated prices; lunch is cheaper. Prompt service with a great view; if you are there on a sunny day, enjoy it by sitting outside overlooking the shipping channel. Walkable to from most places near the harbor.

Great Japanese food

Make sure you book – this place is very popular! Was here for dinner as part of a group booking. Good variety of meals to choose form, and I really appreciated the picture menus to help explain what each meal was.

We Couldn’t Wait To Come Back

Last year we were in Kodiak waiting to go out to Katmai for a stay on Kittywake photographing bears. That’s when we discovered this magic eatery right on the harbour.
Joon and the team welcomed us back again as our team of picsters had been dreaming of the Alaskan crab for 12 months.
The menu is extensive and a combination of Asian and seafood dishes. I’m missing the place as I write.

Most enjoyable, healthy food

Great food, well presented, friendly service. Not noisy, lovely views. A calm place to relax, talk and enjoy a meal.

Excellent Food and View of the Channel

I ate at the PowerHouse twice this week and may go back one more time. I think that it is the best restaurant in Kodiak. It has a great menu selection. I had scallops and shrimp for one dinner (highly recommend this dish) and halibut for another (was also very good). This is a place to go if you want to enjoy a long dinner and you are not in a hurry. The service is good, but the meals take a long time to come out.

Best in Town!

This restaurant was recommended to us by every local that I asked. My mom and I ate here several times during our week visit because the food was so good, the service was excellent, and the location is great right on the water. The staff here really work hard to be friendly, accommodating, and take pride in their work. Don’t miss this restaurant!

Went back a second night it was so good

Because we went back a second night, we had the opportunity to try a range of dishes, however nothing from the very extensive sushi menu was included. Did see lots of other having sushi however and enjoying it. One night the three of us all had the fresh salmon entree. Miso sauce was superb, light but tasty. Second night branched out, starting with Gyoza and shumai for appetizers. Very different types of dumplings. I had beef rice special which was thin steak slices, still moist, over a bed of rice. Teriyaki sauce. Delicious. Desserts delicious as well.

Best seafood and sushi in Kodiak

Spent two days in Kodiak, and it was so good the first night that we came back the second. Chefs are Korean/Japanese so it was all with a delicious oriental touch. Although the restaurant is large, it is also very popular, so the second night we sat in the bar to reduce the wait time for a table. Had a delicious salmon with scallops and vegetables cooked to perfection the first night and sushi the second night. Both were just perfect. Recommend reservations for Friday and Saturday nights.

Excellent Sushi with Channel View!

First time here to this restaurant with local friend! Never had Sushi before and it was superb! Nice friendly service topped off with a local Bald Eagle perched ever so gracefully out on the outdoor deck…….quietly awaiting scraps given to him/her by resident Chef(s). Such a great photo OP….especially for tourists not used to seeing such things in the “lower states”. Everyone was friendly and although the place was filled at noon, our food arrived quickly by competent waitresses with smiles on their faces. Great place to experience Kodiak on the Channel!

Great sushi

My husband and I come here for the sushi. We love it and haven’t gotten around to ordering anything else off the menu.
