First and foremost, thank you for your continued love and support of the Kodiak Hana Restaurant.
During these past few weeks that we were closed, we received many kind messages from members of the community and we are so grateful.
We would also like to thank the customers who came yesterday (9/1) on our first day back and were so patient and understanding with us.
We would like to take this time to be transparent about our current situation and better inform our customers.
The members of our staff who had Covid have made a completely recovery and are working with complete approval from their doctors.
Unfortunately our owner and head sushi chef, Tom, came down with severe back pain shortly after we closed and fatigue from overwork has taken a toll on his physique (this is unrelated to Covid).
Luckily, he has been making good recovery and is working under the guidance of his healthcare provider. But as he cannot work for extended periods of time, there will be periods when only the remaining sushi chefs are working until he makes a full recovery.
We are also working with limited kitchen staff as two of our chefs are currently absent who will return in the next few weeks.
To ensure that our customers may have the best experience with the limited amount of chefs we have during this time, we wanted to let you know that we may take different measures during the next few weeks such as taking limited amount of reservations and limiting the capacity of how many customers we may seat at one time.
We expect to do this only until our full staff comes back at the end of this month.
We also wanted to let you know that until further notice, we will be closed on Mondays for both lunch and dinner.
We know that we have much room for improvement and are so thankful for such a wonderful community that continue to support us.
Thank you very much again – we will continually work to serve you better.
